The universal

amsterdam at: world time standard
a professional approach to all modern time related circumstances
with your interests at heart
Everyone likes to keep up with time, wants and needs to know what's the time, also on what time something is going to take take place and how long is it going to be untill that moment. The solid GaTS amsterdam at: world time sets the standard provides everything with respect to these themes.
On this page you will find the instrument that answers the needs mentioned before in every respect as it was developed by UNI-VERSUM.nl and WOWTR-labs. It is a smart, intelligent and versatile quality time standard that has the unmatched competance to be able to deal with all time related circumstances one may encounter with. The standard is well known as the GaTS norm, too. It is build around the innovative time division format 'at:', the GaTS standard visual time indication telling what time of the day it is. Therefore it is very keen, too, and the first (internet) scientifically justified real world time indication. So what you GET is what you see.
GaTS's speciallity is symbolic for it's simplicity: everywhere on earth one meets with the same understandable time. No longer one is encountered with timezones - so its more logical then even UTC - and because of this the GaTS standard is uniquely the synchonizer especially for world wide communication between computers of globalizing (international) enterprises on the internet. And, of course, in general for citizens, too, this standard has many advantages that will reduce convertion of time, money costs, and save environmental health. So GaTS is an every day handy time format.
Companies apply GaTS to uniform their global corporate image and connections, thus this time standard is going to get more and more popular. Citizens worldwide use the GaTS world time at:-indication to see on the spur of the moment wether one can call up somebody in an other part of the world or not yet. The GaTS (itime) standard has many advantages in many markets such as science, technics, economy, sports, traffic, journalism and daylies. It is a very congenal time indication for all day use, but an indispensable reference and especially envirenmental and social friendly, economical and handy in use.
When preinstalled into an OEM system, especially laptops, software, cell phones, watches and webpages, GaTS makes these more attractive to buyers and leads to increased commercial activities. For GaTS is especially suited for events on a world scale, but also for local happenings as explaned down beneath.
The full and the official name 'Global at: Time Standard' stands for the generally abbreviated 'GaTS' standard.

These codes, for faces, colors and sizes of ciphers is provided by e-mail at: timeservices@uni-versum.nl
And do you need a digital watch or small clock of a certain size and/or a specific color, thats's also possible.
Let us know your wishes and we e-mail all data in return. Also if you like a littel digital clock
to run when you are not on line f.i., we can be of service to you. Don't hesitate, it's a pleasure.

Which are the underlying considerations?
First,
as already mentioned, that, wherever we are, we shall observe the same and recognizable time indicated in at:'s. A digital clock f.i. will show the time as 54at:18, meaning 18 minutes past 54at:, as well in Amsterdam, Tokio as in New York. This means the (24 hours) day time is divided in 72 at:s of each 20 minutes and 60 seconds, that world wide is equally indicated.
The time indication must offer special enhencements that show on what time f.i. an event will take place. As you will see, GaTS is always offering more than is expected.
Second,
the at:-time starts running on time marking 00:, so in GaTS on at:-time 00at:. This is exactly on the date boundary which one generally has agreed on. From this moment on the at:-time indidication keeps running on all over the earth untill (24 hours or) 72 at:s have passed. In other words, in this way everyone everywhere experiences the same time expressed in the GaTS at:-time standard. In Europe it is the same at:-time as in America, Japan or Australia. On both sides of the date boundary the time is identical. No timezones are needed any more and also many political problems are gone.
The daylight saving timeshifts can be continued, though it's not necessary to adjust the 'at:'-time clock. One needs to get up and go to sleep three at:s earlier or later after the timeshift days, that's all. But the GaTS standard is intelligent, too. If needed it's possible to add a notice to the time indication that daylight-saving is on (or of).
In general
However, this does not mean you will never experience a jetlag anymore, but travelling time and time of arrival keeps running at the same pace, the GaTS standard time level. It is no longer necessary to convert time, too. Besides your local time there will be a GaTS time that indicates the same time to everyone everywhere in the world. We have to learn to live with the GaTS at:-time indication, to learn to think in it, as it were. This will be a solution on a variety of disciplines. During the Chinese Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 nobody will needs to convert times on which special games take place to his own local time, for on all continents it's the same (at:-Beijing) time. You might have a look at this world influencing typical GaTS's instance solution by clicking yourself to this real life example page.
Even when people walk on the moon they will live at the same at:-time as people on earth do. In the entire solar system there will be not only a global, but even a vast universal time indication. Herewith much problems are solved.

More on the international date line
People live and act according to agreements. These fix behaviour and movements in daily living, because everybody knows what to expect. In this way one has devided the surface of the earth in 360 longitude degrees or meridians, imaginary lines of longitude thought to be running from north to south. In the nineteens century there has been some complaining concerning the position of the meridian that had to be defined as to be the zero or prime meridian. It dealt with a national item, namely wether this would pass through Paris or through the English Royal Greenwich Observatory (London). Finally the last one won. This leaflet is intended to assist those wanting to know a little more about the meridian and international date line.
So, we saw, Greenwhich is situated on the zero degree (0°) meridian. Amsterdam, f.i., on about 4th easter longitude degree or meridian from Greenwich meridian zero. In the other direction towns are situated on degrees western longitude, always seen with ones face directed to the north pole to be able to distinguish between left and right as the western or eastern hemispheres.
Further more one has devided the number of longitude degrees into 24 zones in consequence to the number of 60 minutes segments per day. So originally there were 24 zones of which each principally knows its own time. This is, of course, basically very keen, but it leads to convert times world wide to get to know what time it is somewhere else in another timezone, f.i. in New York. The time difference between Brussels and New York counts six zones. In this way one has to calculates wether a relation is already awork, and can be called up, or is still enjoying a good night rest on the other continent.
But where did time has to start, on which meridian the day, and so the date, did have to begin?
It was thought well that midnight, the twelve hours moment at night at Greenwhich, to be the decisive moment. This meant that on the same time, but twelf time zones or 180° easter longitude at the othe end of the world map, is was high noon or midday. The sun now has risen to its highest position in the sky which is at twelve hours at noon.
The international date line is an invisible line drawn from the north to south pole running at one side of the earth where the date of one day turns into the date of the next day. On the world map this line is drawn on the 180 degrees eastern meridian on the globe exactly opposit the position of the English university of Greenwhich (London), which therefor itself is situated on the 0 degrees or so called Greenwich zero or prime meridian. So on the date line every new days time starts running and where at 00at:00.00 for this reason the at:-time starts.
Though the international date line mainly passes through the pacific, one of the most well known countries that lies very near to the date line is New Zealand, where the Greenwhich antipods dwell. In fact, near this country the daytime starts running. And, of course, on the many isles situated on this date line. Because these isles mostly are not exactly situated on the date line, it's rather crumbled here and there. But at the moment, as well in practice as politically, we can live with it rather well.
